Carl Sagan is a man who I truly believe was one of humanity's greatest products. He was a man so humble and sincere, unlike anyone today. He also did us all a favor and led way to another great scientist and role model: Neil deGrasse Tyson (whom I also adore very much).
In this speech, Sagan really dives into the fact that we are not the center of the universe and that we are so incredibly small. His words ooze wisdom and humanity, and we can't ask for anything better. In this time, we are in desperate need of humanity and could all use the wisdom Sagan has to offer us. This narration has some of the most profound words seen in this past century. We are so small, not just physically compared to the massive cosmos, but as mankind. With something as colossal and epic as our universe, all our problems become insignificantly tiny. But, there is no need to fall into an existential crisis since we are gifted with the opportunity to learn our surroundings. We are gifted the opportunity to feel love and awe, and nothing can take that away from us.
Time and time again, we all forget this message and I wish that everyone can hear this speech and feel the love and thirst to explore. I sincerely believe that these two traits can improve us immensely as mankind.
